IN-PERSON COOKING COURSE - CLAYGATE FROM 20/1/25

Join us on some Mondays at our new IN-PERSON COOKING COURSE and learn how to cook recipes from our 3 month STREETFOOD plan. 

Starts 20 January 2025 and we will meet approx. every other week (7 in-person classes of your course) and the remaining weeks will be completed independently by you at your home. Recipes may include paella, Asian stirfry, sticky toffee pudding, caramel and pepper chicken bake, American pancakes, the ultimate chocolate cookie, Thai curry, sausage rolls, superfood salad…plus more! Learn knife skills, food safety and kitchen hygiene, build confidence, hob and oven skills etc.

In-class dates are 20/1/25, 27/1/25, 10/2/25, 24/2/25, 17/3/25, 31/3/25 and 7/4/25

Suitable for BRONZE and SILVER awards.

ALL ROUNDER SILVER 3 MONTHS

If you have NOT TAKEN our bronze cooking course, then this one is for you.

This  plan takes you from baking to cooking a 3 dinner course dinner and snacks.  A large range of recipes experimenting with lots of flavours and skills demonstrating the skills section of your award. 

You will start by baking Anzac cookies , cakes, traybakes, sweet pastry, savoury sausage rolls, progress through to midweek meals including a curry, Chinese stirfry, one-pot roast, pasta bake, MiddleEastern snack (shawarma) and finish off with a well deserved sweet pudding (chocolate mousse, creme brulee, Swiss roll, pavlova or the ultimate chocolate cookie, muffins).

Easy to follow and helpful feedback is provided by our friendly tutors.

ALLROUNDER 3 MONTHS (EXT)

3 month ALLROUNDER extension course.

Have you already completed an ALLROUNDER course for your bronze award?

This course offers a selection of new recipes if you have already completed a BRONZE ALLROUNDER 3 month course. Recipes include caramelised peppery chicken, our ultimate chocolate cookie recipe, crumble, creamy salmon traybake, risotto, sweet and sticky chicken, chocolate pudding, slow cooking, Swiss roll etc

ALLROUNDER 6 MONTHS

If you havent completed any of our courses and you would like to complete your skills learning to cook for 6 months then this course is for you!

You'll learn to cook snacky treats (biscuits, cakes, savoury rolls, apple turnovers), breakfast treats, midweek dinners which will be family favourites, something sweet for pudding. This recipe plan is full of foodie favourites from snacks to cooking a 3 course meal. It's our most popular recipe plan.

Recipes include 

Anzac cookies, muffins, fridgecake, brownie bites, sweet pastry, savoury sausage rolls, progress through to midweek meals including a curry, Chinese stirfry, one-pot roast, ragu, caramel chicken, burgers with roasties, granola, risotto, pasta bake, slowcooked lamb, MiddleEastern snacks (shawarma) and finish off with a well deserved sweet pudding (chocolate mousse, creme brulee, Eton Mess, apple crumble, Swiss roll, pavlova or the ultimate chocolate cookie, muffins).

ALLROUNDER (PAST SASSY STIRRERS STUDENTS) 6 MONTHS

If you have already complete completed a 3 month bronze cookery course with us, then this is your 6 month silver course.

ALLROUNDER GLUTEN FREE 6 MONTHS

You'll learn to cook snacky treats (biscuits, cakes, savoury rolls, apple turnovers), breakfast treats, midweek dinners which will be family favourites, something sweet for pudding. This recipe plan is full of foodie favourites from snacks to cooking a 3 course meal. It's our most popular recipe plan.

This vegetarian plan teaches you baking to cooking a 3 dinner course dinner and snacks.  A large range of recipes experimenting with lots of flavours and skills demonstrating the skills section of your award. 

You will start by baking Anzac cookies , cakes, traybakes, sweet pastry, savoury sausage rolls, progress through to midweek meals including a curry, Chinese stirfry, one-pot roast, pasta bake, MiddleEastern snack (shawarma),vege chilli with a crunchy topping, pizza, risotto, vegetarian fritters and finish off with a well deserved sweet pudding (chocolate mousse, creme brulee, Swiss roll, pavlova or the ultimate chocolate cookie, muffins).

 Recipes can be swapped out to your liking.

STREETFOOD 3 MONTHS VERSION 1

If you have already completed a 3 month BRONZE COURSE but would like to extend your course, this course follows a STREETFOOD plan and includes new recipes from those in STREETFOOD and the ALLROUNDER course.

This Streetfood recipe is also for students who have a sibling / friend completing the other streetfood course concurrently. It includes some fishbased recipes; cook your way around the globe and enjoy blackened haddock with salsa, aubergine parmigiana, tiramisu, smoky fish curry, paella, churros,ragout, sambal chicken salad, oven baked churros, pavlova, chocolate traybake...you will savour lots of interesting flavour and try new skills. 

STREETFOOD 3 MONTHS VERSION 3

This recipe plan is made up from our family favourite cookbook - it's a mixture of sweet and savoury, snacks, lots of midweek meals and well-deserved sweet treats. Recipes include caramelised chicken with peppers, sesame asian meatballs, bangers'n'mash, the ultimate chocolate cookie, Pho, sweet and sour chicken, strawberry mousse, fish pie, beef with sesame noodles, lime drizzle cake, creme brulee, crepes, Swiss roll, strawberry mousse...and you also have the option to substitute recipes with any of your own favourites. 

STREETFOOD 6 MONTHS

COOKIES_CAKES_BAKING 3 MONTHS

Learn to cook cookies, traybakes, cakes & puddings... everything & anything sweet! A large range of recipes trying new flavours and skills demonstrating the skills section of your award.

Recipes include; Anzac cookies, oatcakes, scones, muffins, cupcakes (cake decorating), lemon cookies, cinnamon and apple tarts, apple crumble, Swiss roll, apricot loaf.

You can start as soon as you register & pay for your course, & your foodie tutor will help you along the way checking your evidence sheets, suggesting how to improve (if needed!) and motivating your confidence in the kitchen.

We love to teach you to love cooking.

PESCATARIAN 3 MONTHS

This recipe plan combines a little baking, snacks & midweek meals for those who like fish & vegetarian dishes & sweet treats to complete the plan.

Lots of interesting flavours & ingredients eg oaty cookies, savoury vege rolls, paella, ragu, smoky fish curry, blackened cod, chinese peppery stirfry,  one-pot chowder, fish burittos, Tiramisu, churros....& more delicious recipes.

Your tutor will guide you through the course, helping you to gain confidence & make delicious food to share with family & friends.

PESCATARIAN 6 MONTHS

Learn how to make meals with interesting flavours & textures such as Pad Thai, Spicy-as-you-like smoky curry, sweet & sour prawns/tofu, seafood paella, ragu, vietnamese lettuce wraps, fish finger butties, blackened cod with salsa,  pizza, Pho, Thai red curry plus well deserved sweet treats...churros, crepes, American pancakes. This recipe plan is packed with flavours from around the world.

VEGETARIAN 3 MONTHS

This 12 week course includes a little baking, pastry making, some yummy snacks, mid week meals & puddings. You can look forward to sharing  vege chilli with a crunchy topping, cornish pasties, squishy chocolate cookies, vietamese wraps, risotto, aubergine parmigiana, pizza, profiteroles, a deliciously challenging honey cinnamon roulade, plus lots more ....so many flavours and skills for a VEGETARIAN diet.
